Western North Carolina was struck by Hurricane Helene in September of 2024. Many members of our community experienced devastating loss, most cropland was severely damaged, and many businesses were unable to open their doors for weeks.
Our farm, however, miraculously sustained minimal crop damage, leaving us in the fortunate position of being able to provide for our community during an immense time of need. Within the week following the storm we hosted five pop-up Share Markets, distributing food during the critical time that grocery stores were closed.
